Car audio questions - installation, head unit, speakers?

I am buying a car and would like to upgrade the audio. I want to get this head unit:

the cheapest I found was at Sonic Electronix, is that a good place to order?

is it worth it to upgrade the speakers if I am on a limited budget? If so what are the best cheap speakers I should buy? I have been told to look for JBL and JL speakers, subs, tweaters, etc.

If my car has steering wheel controls will they work with the head unit? the head unit comes with a remote does that go on my steering wheel?|||Q: the cheapest I found was at Sonic Electronix, is that a good place to order?

A: Yes

Q:is it worth it to upgrade the speakers if I am on a limited budget?

A: Yes.

Q:If so what are the best cheap speakers I should buy? I have been told to look for JBL and JL

A: JBL and JL are both great companies to buy speakers from, but maybe not the cheapest. you work at best buy, any speaker you can get there will be a good replacement for your stock ones, and any of the brands that best buy sells are good brands to look into.

Q: If my car has steering wheel controls will they work with the head unit?

A: this depends. some headunits have adapters that will allow this, and some do not. I didn't look at your headunit so I don't know. I would ask one of the car audio installers at your store about it

Q:Also where is a good place to get it installed?

A: I'm sure all of those places would do a fine installation. if not you can always take it back and get them to do it right, or sue them. they are professionals. but the only one of those places I know of (since I'm not in vegas) is best buy, and they do good installations.

Q: do they do installations if you buy the products somewhere else?

A: Yes. any car audio shop will install something for you. you just may have to pay more for it since you didn't buy the product from them (ex. some places give you a discount on the install if you buy the product from them. If you get it from somewhere else, then you won't get that discount)

I would factor in the cost of the headunit from sonicelectronix, shipping, and install costs

versus buying the product from a local shop and having them install it, possibly with a discount.

Also remember you'll still have to pay for what ever is necessary to install your new headunit. only the labor will be free, or discounted. so you'll still have to buy a wiring harness, and possibly an antenae adapter.

Q:the head unit comes with a remote does that go on my steering wheel?

A: no that doesn't go on the steering wheel. it goes in the hand that you are not using to drive. it will allow you to adjust the volume, change the track, switch radio stations, etc, without looking at the headunit, or reaching forward to do these things. It allows you to keep your eyes on the road. when it isn't in your hand, you can rest it in any convenient spot in your car close to you.|||http://bigbullyelectronics.com/
