also for whatever one is better whats a good amp from sonic electronix that will be good with this sub and is not to expensive|||I would get the kickers. I have the regular CVR12 in a ported box. 2.25 cu feet plus port dimensions. almost 3 cu feet box. Sounds AWESOME!!





They claim that the shallow mounts sound almost as good at the regular CVR's. I dont think you would be dissapointed.





As far as amps go, I have heard one of these, and it sounds great. especially for the price. Its even CEA-2006 compliant.

This Rockford-Fosgate is the least expensive one that SonicElectronix shows that would appear to provide adequate power into 4 ohms.

There are a lot of amps that claim more power, especially the Boss, Lanzar, Visonik, Hitron, Soundstream and such. I'd recommend staying with a brand whose manufacturer is CEA2006 compliant and provides honest ratings. Hifonics, MB Quart, Autotek, and Crunch are Maxxsonics brand names. The variations you see on SonicElectronix are pretty much the same, just with different outside cases.





MTX also makes some good products. Their amps are all delivered with a "birth certificate" that shows the measured rated power output. Some people like the Jackhammer amps. I think they cost more than they are worth, but then that's me. I like JL Audio too, and I think they are way overpriced.





This MTX is not as much as the Alpine but more than the Rockford-Fosgate. It has a higher output rating than either.

This Kenwood has the best power rating, and would be a better power match for either of the subs. With 500 watts RMS into 4 ohms, it gives you a little headroom to work with. But it costs more than any of the others.

If it were me, for the best combination of price, trustworthy brand, and reliability, my choices would be:





1st - Alpine


2nd - MTX


3rd - Rockford-Fosgate


4th - Kenwood|||Actually niether listed is great. If you want a NICE shallow mount that performs, look at the RE Audio, Soundstream, or JL. Kicker is junk and sounds horrible.
