Is it ok to get an amp that has more power than the subs ?

I purchased a kenwood amp and sub combo at sonic electronix online and the rms of the subs combined is 800, but the amp rms was only 500 which only meant 250 per sub, but they can do 400 each..I was wondering if I could get an amp that pushed 900 rms and just try to adjust it, and set it up properly so it won't blow out my subs ?

P.S. all of this info is in 2ohms|||Yes you can use that amp. Its actually good to overpower the subs because it makes them run cooler and also helps keep the amp cooler as long as you keep the gain turned down some on the amp. You can never have too much power as long as you don't abuse your equipment and tune it properly. Hope I have been helpful.
