Absolutely true!! And, for a lot less money. They're flat-bottomed, so they don't ride as good, but they're great for shallow waters.
Thank you.....and I hope you enjoy your new boat.

Are carolina skiffs unsinkable type boats?well, any 16 foot and under required by uscg to be basically unsinkable. yes to your question, they float because of foam usually about a couple of feet under the water surface but the are very wet rides. they push water forward and usually end up spraying back on you. i have had more than 4 friends who purchased them and end up selling them shortly after. i have been on them and fished from them inshore and offshore. sorry, i hate them. good luck. keep a raincoat with you at all times. maybe it will help you float too. just kidding
It's an inexpensive flat bottomed work boat, that has lot's of room, and can support a lot of weight, as far as being constructed with closed cell foam floatation throughout the hull like a "Boston Whaler" is ? I doubt it heavily, I have owned both boats, I no longer have the "SCARE-O-LINER SKIFF", comparing a "Carolina Skiff" to a "BOSTON WHALER" is probably a good sales pitch from the saleman at "Carolina Skiff's", many boats compare themselves to a "Boston Whaler", THEIR IS ONLY 1 "BOSTON WHALER", everything else is just a "WANNA BE", when you overload them and fill the hull with water is what seperates the "men" from the "boy's", the "Whaler" will still float high in the water with the engine above the water AND STILL RUNNING, as where the other boats just "Flounder" and dump everyone over the sides, don't take my word for it, watch the video !Are carolina skiffs unsinkable type boats?
