Would this amp and sub work together? Cables?

Ok i am new to this and have a 1995 GMC extended cab so I'm limited on room but I think that this would be a good sub to put under the seat. I just need to find an amp that would work with this sub. I just don't know really what to look for.

Amp-

Alpine MRP-M500 Car Amplifier - 500W RMS Amp

This auction is for a used Alpine MRP-M500 Car Audio Amplifier. The amp was tested and was found to be working properly. The physical condition is excellent (see photos for details). This is a Mono Channel amp that is rated (RMS) 300 watts @ 4 ohms or 500 watts @ 2 ohms. The amp has a 0 - 12 db bass boost control centered at 50 Hz, a low pass crossover with variable cutoff frequency of 50 - 200 Hz and input sensitivity / gain control.Would this amp and sub work together? Cables?
Yeah, it would make a good combo.

The sub is 2 ohms and 400w rms. The amp produces 500w rms at 2 ohms. With the amp's gain set slightly to the low side it would be about ideal.

The key to getting good sound out of it is to provide the subwoofer with a goo quality, properly sized enclosure.
