In the long run, is it better to get a higher quality boat and spend the extra money?

I am looking at the 235 conquest that Boston whaler has to offer. My only concern is the price tag that comes with the boat. I don't know if i shuld look at a cheaper boat and lose some quality or stay with the more expencive and more quality. If you have an advice please don't hesitate to tell me Thanks a bunch! In the long run, is it better to get a higher quality boat and spend the extra money?
You are buying alot of "nameplate", there are lots of quality boats that are less than BW's , look around some are even better for comfort. Unless you have lots of money to burn, save 5000 and take lots of trips with that money or buy a couple of expensive rod and reels, that quality is really worth a few hundred more bucks
Quality in a boat normally means a safer vessel and since you cannot "walk" away from a problem on the water safety is paramount.

Another factor...quality usually means greater resale value. Buy a low quality boat and you could find that your "upside down" in value if you have to sell her early on. Buy a quality boat and you are going to be better off on a resale price.

If you can afford quality...go for it and enjoy. If you cannot I'd recommend waiting until you can. Why buy cheap and keep putting your hard earned $$$ into repairs? In the long run, is it better to get a higher quality boat and spend the extra money?
This is tough to answer b/c a more expensive boat could also turn into a lemon, just like a car. So for some people, they're cheaper boat turned out great and runs great! I would not get something thats shot either, just to save a buck. You don't want a "fixer upper" that has endless projects - this always keeps people from enjoying the water, as their home fixing up the boat. Best advice is to get a boat that you won't grow out of right away. Get the size that you really want, so you're not trying to sell it in a few years for an upgrade. You want a solid engine, that's what you're really buying when you get a boat. The hull and actual boat is rarely the problem, its the engine! Bring a boat mechanic if you can, I'd rather pay for an inspection than miss something myself.
These guys are right....you only pay for quality one time! And boston whaler is just about as good as it gets. You could even charter fishing expeditions to help pay for it!! Certainly enough room on that puppy for a couple of payin customers!!In the long run, is it better to get a higher quality boat and spend the extra money?
no way man you should probably buy a crappy boat that recquires way too many repairs so that you end up spending more money to get the thing to float than it actually cost you to buy it. it makes; a better story that way.

or just build one yourself
Not only should you settle for nothing less than a Boston Whaler, that particular 235 Conquest model is amazing! I have one so feel free to e-mail with any questions you have.

Best of luck to you, get the BW!!!!!
Quality is one thing that is always a good buy!

It willreally depend on your budget and planned use for the boat. If you can afford the quality, go for it.
Isn't it always better to spend the money on quality in the long run? Boston Whaler certainly is a quality boat. Built very well.

Have fun.
You'll never regret buying quality.
