Is this subwoofer and amp package a good deal? HiFonics HFi 1000D amp and 2 Alpine type r subs?

Im looking to upgrade my system and this is what im thinking about getting but i have a few questions. Is the HiFonics 1000D amp any good? Does the slanted (hatchback looking) box effect the sound of the subs? If so how and for the better or worse? It includes a Hifonics HFi Series HFi1000D Amplifier + 2 Alpine SWR1242D Type R 12" Subs + 4GA Amp Kit +Sealed Box. Is it a good deal overall for $420???

Also would you ever buy a factory refurbished amp from Sonic Electronix? It's a Hifonics Brutus BXi1608D Amplifier (factory refurbished) + 2 Pioneer Premier TSW2502D4 10" Subs + 4 GA Amp Kit + Sealed Sub Box for $440. Would you think this is a better or worse deal???
